New beginnings

Someone told me that when I began writing, I should start at the very beginning and work my way to the present.
The time may come where I will chat about that more darling, but not for now. Suffice to say that I am a self-made woman, whose success today is borne on the backs of those who provided the opportunity for achievement.
In the midst of my current project, I decided to take a bit of a break and stroll around the square in Victoria City. My new gown is quite lovely, and I did notice the warm looks from the dowdy gentlemen strolling with their sad chubby wives. Ironic, that they have no idea what lurks behind the crinolines and boning...they will sit in their homes tonight, smoking their cigars and drinking their brandy, congratulating themselves on what a fine bargain they got today at the market, reading the papers and tut tutting about the reports of piracy and theft on foreign seas, not knowing that they are the financiers of that self-same business. It is all rather simple as a business model, providing those goods people are willing to purchase for a price they are willing to pay. The poor dull squire at the store doesn't ask where the cognac came from, only that for a vintage of that quality the price seems very reasonable. How the goods are acquired never comes into the equation.
